Getting started
Do I need singing experience?
No. Most of our clients are not professional singers. We guide you through the entire process.
Can I join from anywhere in the world?
Yes. Our process is fully remote and available worldwide.
Which package should I choose?
Take our Free Direction Check and we'll send you a report with a recommended package.
Can I bring my own lyrics or song idea?
Yes. Your questionnaire has a section for this. If you write the lyrics, you share in the lyric rights.
Do I need to know how to produce or mix music?
No. Every package includes custom song production, arrangement, mixing and mastering, album artwork and a worldwide digital release. You focus on your vocal, and we handle the rest.
I can't describe the music I want in technical terms. Is that okay?
Yes. Share songs you love and tell us how they make you feel. Your producer turns that into a direction for your song, starting with your first report and your first session.
I already take vocal lessons. How is this different?
Lessons make you a better singer over time. Direction makes this one song right: your producer tells you what to change in each line and why, so the vocal you record is ready to release.
What do I need to do myself?
Share your taste and a few reference songs, then join your live Zoom sessions: a recording session with Start and Entry, a vocal direction session and a recording session with Complete Artist, and four sessions with Premium. You record at home or in a studio we book near you while your producer directs you live. Then review the results and share your feedback. Most projects are completed within 4 weeks.
Do you guarantee a debut or a specific producer?
No. We don't guarantee chart results, performance or a well-known producer. Our focus is getting your song released. Producers from our in-house team and our contracted producers are assigned to fit your needs, and every one of them is an active, working producer.
Recording
Can I record my vocals at home?
Yes. You can choose between home recording or a local studio option.
What if I need a studio booked for my recording?
If you'd like to record in a studio, we'll book one near you.
What equipment do I need at home?
You'll need a computer, an audio interface, headphones and a condenser microphone. Recording on a phone isn't supported.
Can you check my home setup before I record?
Yes. Before you record, we decide together whether you'll record at home or in a studio, and we check your equipment. With Complete Artist and Premium we do this in your vocal direction session; with Start and Entry we do it by email and at the start of your recording session. If your home setup isn't ready, we'll suggest a studio instead. Studio rental is covered by us, so you just record at the booked time. If a session is delayed or rescheduled because of a problem on our side or a connection issue, we'll find a new time with you and cover any resulting costs.
How long are the Zoom sessions?
Every session is a live Zoom call with your producer, including your recording session. Start and Entry include one 1-hour recording session: your producer sets the direction at the start, then you record. If you'd like a separate practice and vocal direction session first, add a 1-on-1 Producer Direction Session as an add-on. Complete Artist includes a 1-hour vocal direction session and a 3-hour recording session. Premium includes a 1-hour song and vocal planning session, a 1-hour vocal direction session, a 3-hour main recording session and a 2-hour follow-up recording session. Sessions are planned around these times, but the actual time can vary with your producer's approach and how well you know the song. If a session needs to run longer, we can extend it by agreement with you, and the extra time may cost more. If you need more time, you can add an extra Zoom session or a session extension as an add-on on your package page. Studio bookings can't run past the time agreed in advance, so please keep this in mind when choosing a package.
What if I can't sing it the way you direct?
Your producer works through it with you. Together we adjust the key, replace notes that sit too high or too low, rework parts that are hard to sing, and give you a practice plan so you can deliver the song well. With Complete Artist and Premium this happens in your vocal direction session; with Start and Entry it happens at the start of your recording session, or in a 1-on-1 Producer Direction Session you can add.
How should I prepare for my recording session?
Practice the song with your reference track until you feel comfortable with it. Before you record, your producer goes over the song with you: we check the key and adjust any parts that are hard to sing, in your vocal direction session with Complete Artist and Premium, or at the start of your recording session with Start and Entry. If you record at home, we also check your equipment beforehand. We recommend memorizing the lyrics if you can. It isn't required, but singing without reading lets you focus on the feeling of the song.
Direction & communication
Will you change my style?
We build on your style rather than change it. Your producer may suggest directions that could work better for the song, and we talk every one through with you.
How do I communicate with K-pop producers?
You meet your producer in live Zoom sessions, including your recording session: one with the Start and Entry packages, two with Complete Artist, and four with the Premium Package. Outside those sessions, we stay in touch by email at contact@producerk.com.
What reports do I get with my package?
Your package includes two PDF Creative Progress Reports. The first report adds a detailed vocal analysis, three reference songs picked for you, your producer's intent for the track, and your Zoom session schedule. The final report comes with your master audio and album data, your producer's overall review, your planned release date, and new song recommendations. If you take the Free Direction Check before you buy, you also get a free direction report that analyzes your voice and suggests the direction and package that suit it.
Who will work on my song?
Your producers are chosen based on your questionnaire answers and your voice. Your sessions are with members of the production team working on your song, and in your recording session the head producer directs you live. An interpreter joins every video call.
What if I don't like the song you propose?
We create a reference track based on the voice samples and answers in your questionnaire, so the more detail you share there, the closer it gets to what you want. Your options depend on your package. From the Complete Artist Package, one remake of the reference track is included.
Who decides which take makes the final version?
We share the same goal: a great-sounding result. Our producers work from years of experience and data. If you and your producer hear a take differently, your producer leads the discussion during the session, and the final version is decided by our producers. It's never a gut call: every week, our team listens back to work in progress together in a production meeting and gathers feedback, which is how we keep the quality high.
Production & release
How long does a project take?
Most projects are completed within 4 weeks, depending on scheduling and revisions.
Will my song be released on streaming platforms?
Yes. Your music can be released on major streaming platforms worldwide.
How do revisions work?
Before you record, we go over changes to the song itself, such as moving the key or adjusting notes that sit too high or too low, and agree on them together: in your vocal direction session, or at the start of your recording session with Start and Entry. Any further changes are discussed with your producer, and some requests may not be possible, depending on the type of change.
Who owns the song?
The copyright in the finished song belongs to the producers who write it. If you take part in writing the lyrics, you share in that copyright. The master rights belong to Producer K by default, and with any package you can choose an option that transfers them to you. Revenue from the recording is paid to whoever holds the master rights.
Can I re-record after hearing the mix?
Re-recording isn't possible once recording is complete. Mix revisions are included from the Complete Artist Package, usually one or two rounds.
Can I release the song under my own name and use it in shows or videos?
Yes. Your questionnaire asks for the artist name you want to release under, and the song is released under that name. Songwriting credits go to the people who worked on the song, and if you contribute the story or ideas for the lyrics, you're credited too. Shares are split equally among the credited writers. You're free to use the song in performances, videos and on social media.
Payment & refunds
What is your refund policy?
Refunds follow our Refund Policy. Refund Policy
Can I upgrade my package later?
Yes, after a consultation with your producer. Depending on the add-ons you chose, what you get may differ from buying the higher package directly.
Is the package price the total cost?
Yes. Everything in your package and add-ons is covered, including studio rental. In exceptional cases, any extra cost is agreed with you first.
Which payment methods can I use?
Checkout is handled by Shopify's secure checkout, and payments are processed by PayPal. You can pay with your PayPal account, or with a debit or credit card — no PayPal account needed in most countries. All prices are in US dollars.
